We’ve merged!
In recent years, the Professional Development Committee and the Admissions Practices Committee, under NACAC's recommendation, merged into a single entity known as the Professional Development and Practices Committee (PD&P). This committee is responsible for creating and executing programs aimed at fostering the professional advancement of Iowa ACAC members, as well as advocating for the ethical treatment of students throughout the college selection process.

Colleges to Counselors is back!
After a few years without C2C programming, the PD&P Committee is excited to share with you all that Colleges to Counselors (C2C) is back this year and will be hosted at Simpson College in Indianola on October 24.
C2C is designed to give school counselors and CCTCs a free opportunity to hear brief updates from institutions in a platform setting. Institutions will give a quick 2-5 minute update, plus there will be a mini-college fair just for school counselors. This allows everyone to network, get more in-depth information, as needed, and promotional materials.
C2C will operate bi-annually, with one fall event and one spring event hosted at multiple locations throughout the state of Iowa. The location for Spring 2024 C2C will be announced later this year.

Winter ACU 2024 - Coming in January!
The 2nd virtual Winter ACU will take place in January. This event offers a cost-effective opportunity for new admissions representatives to familiarize themselves with the profession before the spring semester and travel season begins. While the program mirrors that of Summer ACU, it caters to representatives hired midway through the year or those who couldn't attend Summer ACU. Attendees will get the chance to learn more about the profession, meet friendly faces they might see on the road.
The PD&P Committee is so grateful to be able to serve the association to bring our membership new and renewed programming to promote lifelong learning in the field of admissions, and to serve the next generation of learners. Thank YOU!
