Have you wanted to attend one of our state or national conferences, but didn’t have the funds? Maybe you have a great program in mind you’d like to start at your school, but need some help getting the financial wheels rolling? Or maybe you simply would like to be a member of both organizations, but the membership fees to renew or join are not in the budget?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is here to help! NACAC provides Imagine Grants to offer financial support to individuals or groups. They are intended to provide assistance to individuals who might otherwise be unable to participate in professional development opportunities or implement a new innovative program.Our Iowa ACAC members took full advantage of the 2016 Imagine Grant!
• College Day College Night Committee – Provided transportation to Iowa ACAC College Fair in Des Moines and boosted fair attendance!
• Professional Development Committee – Reduced the costs for colleges to send representatives to Admissions Counselor University!
• Inclusion Access and Success Committee – Expanded the reach of the LEAP Conference to have more high school students attend!
• Jedd Taylor and Ashlee Duimstra, Iowa school counselors, attended the 2017 NACAC Conference at Boston!
This could be you!
• Membership dues for either NACAC or affiliate membership.
• Registration, travel, lodging, and other conference fees related to attendance at NACAC and affiliate professional development programs including annual conferences.
• Expenses associated with the development and implementation of special projects such as design, printing and postage as well as for event expenses such as food, venue rental and audio-visual equipment, and transportation.
Secondary or postsecondary members may apply online - deadline to apply is December 1, 2017! So, get the fireplace going with a warm cup of hot chocolate and a comfy chair. Settle in because it is the perfect time to start working on the Imagine Grant application!
