Sometimes it is difficult to put into words how thankful you are for the people, experiences, and things in your life. It is easy to say “thank you,” but those words have so much more impact when supported with specifics. Thank you to all of our readers and browsers, but also to those who took a minute out of their day to spread their appreciation:
“Let's face it-the administrative staff at all of our institutions--they rock! They learn the names of the applicant pool, take phone calls, check in visitors, and sift through the admission email accounts to match documents (that I'm guilty of sending!), so that students can complete their applications and move through the admission process--and really, any other duties as assigned! Without them, many of our offices wouldn't be able to get things done!”
“I am thankful for all my colleagues--both at UNI and at other institutions--who know me and help me keep it real.”
“I want to send a shout-out to my school counselor colleagues at Linn Mar High School. I am so lucky to work with such an awesome, supportive team. We are able to work together by remembering that our mission as school counselors is to keep kids first. I am so lucky to work with other professionals to bounce ideas off of, ask questions, or just joke around on a stressful day. “
“I'm thankful that I am now a Survivor!”
“Thank you to the Iowa ACAC Publications and Marketing committee – Jess DeWall, Jordan Bruess, Chyan Metzger, Trina Landmesser, Caitlyn Maitlen, Mark Haddinger, Susan Dickinson, and Rachel Ahern. This is an outstanding team and they have really stepped up to the new challenge of producing articles on a monthly basis!”
“I am thankful to have such a family friendly and supportive work environment.”
“I am thankful for all of the opportunities UNI and Iowa ACAC has given me to grow as an individual both professionally and emotionally. This past year has been full of change and challenges, but thanks to my position and the support I have received from UNI staff, students, and faculty- I have been able to develop (and still will develop) into the woman I am supposed to be.”
“I'm most thankful for family time!”
“I am thankful every single day for the wonderful opportunity to help students and their families at the University of Northern Iowa. It is a joy to be involved with such important life-changing decisions.”
