Four of our new committee chairs took over after the spring conference. One has been involved since the fall, but we wanted to officially introduce her, too!

Gabrielle McCoy - Publications and Marketing
I graduated from Wartburg College in 2024 with a degree in Journalism and Communication, emphasizing public relations and multimedia journalism. Since then, I've been serving as an admissions representative and head cheer coach at Cornell College. These roles have allowed me to blend communication, leadership, and relationship-building—skills that stem from both my academic background and my passion for supporting students.
I'm excited to become more involved with Iowa ACAC to bridge my experience in admissions with my educational background in media and public relations. I see this as an opportunity to connect with professionals across Iowa, contribute meaningfully to the field, and help foster collaboration and innovation in college admissions.
Jess Dillahunt - Professional Development & Practices
I am currently a Senior Admission Counselor at the University of Iowa, my alma mater. I work with incoming first year students as well as transfer students. I also coordinate the University of Iowa’s involvement in the Small Town and Rural Student (STARS) College Network. I’ve been connected to the Professional Development and Practices Committee for several years now but agreed to chair because I wanted to grow my involvement with Iowa ACAC and meet more admission professionals across the state of Iowa.
Tyler Poldevaart - Government Relations
I have been in Admissions for 11 years with the first half of my career starting at my alma mater of Mount Mercy University and the last five years with Kirkwood Community College. I was part of the Government Relations Committee early in my career, so having the chance to assist in leading the committee helps bring it full circle. I look forward to continuing the great work with Iowa ACAC!
Megan Richtsmeier - College Day/College Night
My name is Megan Richtsmeier, and I am the Enrollment Recruiting/International Student Specialist at Ellsworth Community College. I’ve been at Ellsworth for just over five years now, and joined the Admissions team two years ago. I work with all of our international students as well as students from across Iowa and the U.S. I’m also currently working on my Master’s degree in Higher Education with a focus on Community College Leadership. I’ll graduate next May. I served on the College Day/College Night Committee for one year, but when the opportunity to step up as Chair was presented to me, I recognized that this step would be a great opportunity to get more involved in the organization. I’m looking forward to the next three years serving this committee and the Iowa ACAC to continue to help students learn about all of the great higher education institutions that Iowa has to offer! Outside of work, you can find me helping my husband on our family farm, chasing around my 2.5-year-old son, or in the middle of a good book.
Gisselle Herrera - Inclusion, Access, and Success Co-Chair
I’m one of the co-chairs of the IAS Committee. I joined the committee in 2023 and began serving as co-chair during the past academic year. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa (May 2022) and recently earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) in May 2025. Since July 2022, I have been professionally employed at UNI. It's been incredibly rewarding to be part of the work we do to support students, and I’m excited to see what the upcoming year brings!
