From budget cuts to issues of access, the students we work with face difficult decisions as they weigh their college options. Additionally, very similar issues may be surfacing at the institutions in where we work. As the economic condition of the State of Iowa continues to change, it is important to make our thoughts known elected officials. During Visit the Hill, participants will be provided the necessary training and information to help lobby for issues critical to the interests of students transitioning from high school to college. After lunch with other attendees and legislators, the group will head to the State Capitol to lobby with their state representative and senator. There is no cost to participate in the Visit the Hill program. However, Iowa ACAC understands that transportation costs may affect a secondary school's ability to participate. Therefore, the Association is once again offering a travel scholarship to assist high school counselors with the opportunity to attend Visit the Hill and bring students.
