Iowa ACAC College Day/College Night Program

2011-2012 college fair schedule

The 2011-2012 College Day/Night Contract has been established to provide a supportive environment for students to obtain information and appropriate counseling that is helpful in their college selection process.

Participation in the program is limited to universities and colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, trade schools, national military organizations and non-profit postsecondary planning services.

Important Reminder for Spring College Fairs

This year our college fairs will be implementing the College Fair Automation barcode and scanner system to expedite the exchange of information between students and colleges. This process will provide students with the opportunity to register online prior to the event(s). This will generate a barcode that has all their profile information, which they bring to the fairs. Colleges will be equipped with a scanner to capture the student data. Now you can have more meaningful conversation with students instead of getting stuck in the administrative task of gathering their information on a prospect card. No more long lines at your table, waiting to fill out forms. No more talking to the top of a student’s head as he fills out your card. Instead, you can really qualify the fit between your school and that student, scanning their barcode after you have determined them to be a good lead. The scanners are small an easy to use, and the information you capture will be sent to you in an excel spreadsheet within days of the fair so you can begin follow up efforts right away. No more entering all those cards manually! All the data you receive will be complete, legible and accurate every time.

Scanners will be shipped directly to your admissions office prior to the start of travel season. You will be supplied a return shipment label to ship the scanner(s) back when you have completed your fair circuit. The scanner package will also include software and a USB cable for you to upload your leads as often as you like, offering quick turnaround of leads for you to begin follow up efforts. Simply plug the scanner into your computer via the USB cable and the leads will automatically be sent for processing, returning to your email inbox within 24-48 hours. You can see the student information that will be collected at the following website www.iowacollegefairs.com. Please keep in mind, students are still on summer vacation so the numbers may not look real attractive until school starts and we start getting kids to register. Scanner packages are priced according to the number of students you expect to scan, so you can customize the way you utilize the system.

To order your scanner please visit www.gotocollegefairs.com. You may also call College Fair Automation at 800-922-8646 or email mcorsi@collegefairautomation.com with any questions about the barcode/scanner program.
